Thermostat replacement

Well we headed for AZ Thursday morning leaving Riverton about 8 am temps 8 below got about 5 miles down the road and the temps started going up fast, got a check engine light and a few minutes got a stop engine light, got her pulled over in a casino parking lot to take a look.
Got it cooled off started in again sat there for 15 minutes and never got over 163 on my pro-link I thought it might be a stuck theromstat.
So tried it again with same results.
Call Pierce and we visited and thought maybe a sensor looked at all wires and nothing out of the ordinary.
So called a friend who has a truck repair shop in Riverton  he concurred with the stuck theromstat.
He says bring it by and we will get you in😀 so he had his guys take a look and there's got it done.

You lucked out there. Nice to have friends. :)

Did you happen to notice what temps your thermostats are? I was surprised to find mine were 170º. I suspect that a PO had overheating issues and installed the 170ºs to have a little more head room.

Im glad it was an easy fix. That thing looks so easy to work on! Im looking at a familiar hose, looks like a piece of cake on yours.
