Windshield replacement

Does anyone have a recommendation for a mobile installer in the Tucson area for windshield replacement?

I've had good service from these folks , Coach Glass, and I see they have an office in Phoenix, they should have the glass in stock as they are a manufacturer and retailer.  I would be surprised if they did not have an installer near you, as they service most of the RV dealers. They will have experience dealing with your comprehension glass coverage also.

Let us know how it goes with whomever you choose, I'll put the results in my files of good/bad/ugly. Are you replacing the gaskets, too?

You bet. No reason to put in new glass in old rubber of unknown age.

Make sure they glue it in, both sides. Then don't move the coach for 24 hours.

What was strange is that when I called Coach Glass to check on stock. I asked about also replacing the gasket. They said they have one in Oregon that could be shipped down. But actually said that unless the old gasket is cracked and falling apart. They recommended against changing it.

The reason given by Coach Glass was that if there were no leaks now. (there aren't) there is a greater chance of one starting with a new gasket, As the old one has formed itself to the coaches shape over the years. Not sure if that is a load of bull. Yet they could have just sold me the gasket and said nothing.

When I talk to Andy at SuperGlass I'll ask him about it.

Since the front cap does not have much as far as reinforcement on a GV, the windshield tries to move around quite a bit. I let ours move as I'm afraid if I glue it, it may crack. Heading down our driveway or going off pavement, the coach really creaks and groans. I've taken big suction cups and moved it back into place after gaps developed between the body and gasket. Have been keeping fingers crossed for ten years.

Andy & his assistant at RV Superglass of Tucson did a great job on my windshield replacement.
They took their time. Mine was a little more involved as the old gasket was glued on both sides of the gasket around the complete perimeter. Which made the removal & preparation process slower. They had to kick out the old glass and do lot's of scraping of old glue.

Andy did glue the top edge and about a foot down each side to guarantee a waterproof seal.
