Engine identification plate ISC350

I had to find the engine ID number on our Cummins ISC350.  I checked the manual and the web for the location and both stated that it is on the top of the gear housing.  But where is the gear housing?  Another web search directed me to the top of the engine on the right side, just below the dash air conditioning compressor.  See the attached pics.  It was covered with grease and several cables.  This info may already be on the forum somewhere, but I could not find it.  If this is redundant, please delete it.

P.S.  Yes, I know the engine is very dirty and there is a small oil leak near the bottom of the gear housing, but I'm working on it!

George, that area where the filler cap below the arrow is the "gear housing",some call it that because the cam drive train is on that
end of the engine and it consists of helical gears.Think Doug W has replaced that gear housing gasket if I'm not mistaken.
