Well, I pulled into a campground here in MN and hooked up in the heat. It is hot and humid and rainy here. Anyway, it seems to be that the fill is stuck open. My coach has the electric selenoid on the valve. I replaced that selenoid but it did not change the valve. Any other options or places to look. I get a click when i push the button but no change to the valve.
I was thinking of pulling the valve altogether and putting in a manual one. Manual usually does not break.
John,
Does your coach have the float switch in the tank?
No float switch
I think it is stuck open.
How does your system know when the tank is full?
I thought they told me there was a float switch that triggered the valve in mine.
The solenoid you replaced, was that in the Utility bay?
Yes, it is manual and if you do not shut it off it just runs out the bay....
I think the next year got the float switch. Where is it just in case and I will look.
I am thinking of just plumbing in a manual valve or when I get some more time replace the valve too. The magnetic switch was easy. A couple of wires and a clip on top.
I have not found the float switch yet, which is why I was hoping you knew.
I have found the overflow hose which empties out the rear of the coach bay which I may relocate.
Is it the blue and white hose accordian type hose?
Thank you
Yes, Dave, Barry is pointing to the overflow hose there. I have the same one but no float switch.
Hi John,
Does the full fresh water tank try to empty out the fresh water fill hose with the valve stuck open? Does the plastic end cap, for the fill hose, stop this draining?
I think John is saying it overflows out the top after it is filled.
With the valve stuck open he cannot change it to feed the coach instead of continuing to fill the fresh water tank.
Exactly. I can not get it to switch off water fill to house water and with that valve open you have the pump cycling or no house shore water other than to fill the tank. I will hope that the road bumps move it and if not I will change it out when I get home.
