Our front vacuum pump; which controls the air flow from the front heater and air conditioning will not accept a fuse. Stopped working yesterday, changed fuse and immediately blows a new one....Checked all wiring that I could see. Could I have a short in the pump itself? Or where else can I be looking? Many thanks, again.
I had a water pump fail in a mode that blew fuses. I tried a larger fuse and it still blew immediately. I assumed there was a short in the motor and had the pump replaced. Installing a the new pump fixed the problem. I expect the same kind of failure might occur in a 12V vacuum pump.
Thanks J.D. exactly th problem...of course, found this out Friday nite at 95 degrees...glad I just serviced the Genny, for it will get a work out the next couple days as we head home.
Motor is toast, may replace vacuum while I have everything torn apart.
Yup! You will need to get it fixed so your coach will pass the PDI for the new owner. I think I read that someone in your household is ready to upgrade to a bigger coach. I think she may really prefer driving a bigger coach. ;-)
Will this help? http://www.evanstempcon.com/serviceparts.php (http://www.evanstempcon.com/serviceparts.php)? They have a really good troubleshooting section! And parts section with what I think is your vacuum motor.
Most diesels, including diesel pickups have 12 VDC vacuum pumps. Start by checking at a NAPA for one for a Ford diesel PU.
