Title: Air Step Switch
Post by: rrjames on August 13, 2010, 09:35:36 pm
I just purchased a 1998 U295 is there a switch to turn the airstep on and off?  Does not close when the engine is off, only when running.  Is there a owners video on the coach operation?

Pending a more knowledgeable person answering, I'll put in a guess that there is not.  I've never seen one on my 96 model anyway.  I did by accident find the switch that slides the floor out in front of the passenger seat, by the drives right knee, hidden under the CB, in case you haven't found it.  In fact, I didn't even know that feature existed until I said hmmm, wonder what this switch does!

It does not have an on/off switch because the factory did not want the liability & they will not modify it.
BUT:
You can add one and the instructions are here.
Modify outside air step wiring to allow step to retract when ignition is off... (https://wiki.foreforums.com/doku.php?id=house:steps:airstep)
