There is a discrepance between the engine hours on the instrument panel and the VMSpec readings to the tune of 1,600 hours(dash) to 3,200 hours (VMSpec) and the mileage 138,000 (dash) to 145,000 miles (VMSpec). I don't see anything in the historical records that indicate a (or multiple) guage changes.
So, does anyone have any opinions as to what in causing the discrepancies?
When I compare the change in hours and mileage recently, the difference does not change as both mileage and hours pass.(So there seems like there is no offset).
Did I buy a coach with more miles than the guage reads? Can it be corrected?

VDO part # 437-152 $115.75, check with a good speedometer shop to have them put the mileage on the coach in the new speedometer.
I change my speedo and tach last year and had the mileage put in the new speedo.

Barry,
You have no idea how happy I am to read this topic. When we bought our coach we were told that the speedo had been replaced and that the coach actually has about 30,000 more miles on it than the odometer indicates. I didn't know enough to ask nor were we told that this could be corrected. This is a royal PITA to deal with and complicates record keeping for service.
I had no idea that this could be adjusted. I will look for a place to get this done.
The ForeForum is a great place.
NOTE TO DON:
It seems possible that you bought a coach with higher mileage than indicated. However, I believe it is mandatory for a dealer to inform you of this. We were given a special form from MOT when we bought our motorhome. This form included accurate information as to when the replacement speedometer/odometer was installed.
Does anyone know how to adjust them? Has anyone done it themselves?
