Hate to be a party pooper, but I never open my slide unless I am at home. I had it open in Camp Foretravel last Jan. 2010, had to have MOT come and save me as I was headed to their shop for scheduled work that morning. They sent man right away so was in their shop on time.
Since I was so lucky, it only cost $250.00 for service call, hammer the motor, it then worked.
MOT installed new HWH hydraulic pump and motor in their shop. No complaining, just educated.
Has worked flawlessly since. I do not fully trust it.
Find I am more comfy leaving it retracted unless I am in my shop/garage at home where I have all needed tools and equipment to solve it.
We all have choices.

Dave, would you be happier with a coach that has no slides? You would not be alone if you were.
Well, our 1999 40 ft no slide U320 with 450hp M11 is no hot rod but it does very well in the mountains.

If I was building one, I would get a 38 foot ISX phenix none slide. I agree with Dave. I do open my slides but have learned way too much about them.
