Title: Damp carpet at the base of toilet
Post by: Two Hams in a Can on August 30, 2010, 08:32:04 am
We've only had this happen twice since Oct. 09, but yesterday it happened again.  We now think it has something to do with the black tank being full since there is an odor (not as bad as the black tank, but bad enough) and the tank was ready for dumping.  Is there a seal at the bottom of the toilet that could have gone bad?

We are now going to have to move the schedule up for replacing the carpet in the bath with the duro-ceramic tile since I don't think I want that carpet in there anymore even after cleaning it with the spotbot.

Anybody had experience with this?

If it is a Saeland Toilet there is a valve at the side that tends to leak when worn.  Remove the plastic cover and you  can see it on the left side.  Also check at the rear where the spray hose connects, this is just a rubber grommet and it shrinks with age.
Good Luck
