Doris and I left in early July for Texas to leave the coach with James and crew, we had the decals removed and repainted, did the headlight conversion, the back door conversion, roof painted. and installed a set of captains chairs from a U320, all the work is of the quality you expect from James, Rance and I came up with a way to install the new chairs without having to drill new holes in the floor , we added 1 inch pieces on each side of the seat base and drilled the holes to the old pattern
on the floor, after all the work we now have an Xtreme U270 ;D
Bill,
I would love to see a picture of the results. Mark Zettek
Well Bill, guess you will have to update your picture now that you have a spiffy new paint job.
Will check Xtreme website for your pictures.
How long did all that take?
It'll surely enhance pride of ownership. James and crew do great work.
Bill,
If per chance those U320 seats are a pair that James just happened to have on hand from the Stoltz coach, be prepared for the motor on the buddy seat to conk out from time to time and not perform as you would like. If, on the other hand, they are not from the Stoltz coach, ignore this message. Either way -- enjoy your new seats.
Bill,
Congratulations! James and Jennifer (and CREW) are the best! Sounds like much of the work that you had done parallels what we chose to do. And we even installed some U320 Villa seats, from a friend's coach, a couple of years back! Our original Flexsteels (reupholstered) are in Larry's FT in Cambridge MD now. I would be hard pressed to pick any one of our several upgrades that I enjoy more. The rear door mod. and the new Motion windows have to be near the top though!
Nine months into our upgrade, we are as pleased as the day EXTREME finished. We can't say enough good about our EXTREME experience and the quality of their work.
We are still on James' site at http://www.xtremegraphics.net/Pilsbury.html (http://www.xtremegraphics.net/Pilsbury.html)
We look forward to seeing some pictures of your upgrades, if you can share them.
I'm curious about your roof work. Did you have any crazing of the gel coat? Did you have all of the roof mounted hardware removed and re-bedded/recaulked? Did you elect to have the smooth or the textured paint surface?
We have some significant "crazing" of the gel coat showing up just aft of the front cap, streetside, and in the center of the open real estate, a couple feet aft of the rear A/C. James and Gregg put a quote together but we elected to put off the work for a year because we were in freezing (mid teens) temperatures every night, the rest of our upgrades were done, James had a scheduling crunch and FL was beckoning (early January 2010).
Rance cleaned the surfaces, marked the ends of each gel coat crack w/magic marker, and laid a bead of UV impervious silicone over each crack for the interim. Only one or two of more than 50 cracks have grown since then.
Again, congratulations,
Neal
