Title: screen door
Post by: Steve & Ginny Hill on August 31, 2010, 09:12:23 am
Our 96 U295 came from the factory without a screen door. According to FT it was because they used some kind of special aircraft type door (whatever that means). We really enjoy opening the coach up during the pleasant times of year, and a screen door would really help. Is there anyone out there with a similar door that has figured out a way to retro-fit a screen door that is convenient to use?

Does a logo with initials "PTL" appear anywhere on your door? If so, screen doors are available from the manufacturer.

I'll take a look, Horace, but normally the screen shares the same hinge as the door, and fits between the door and the door seal. The way our door fits, there doesn't appear to be any room between the door and the jam for a screen to be located.

Screen doors debuted in 1997 Models. a little wider door and opening with square corners. You should have a screen window in the door.

We have the same door without a screen door and over time figured we are better off as we learned to lock our main door when we are inside to prevent a 'stranger' from walking in uninvited.  We get our breezes from open windows.  Open door can be also caught in winds.  So it has been a win-win for us to not have a screen door with increased security.
