i bought a 1984 Foretravel 33' built on a roadmaster rail, the 8.2 diesel. I loved the quality, and layout.
I do have a major problem, i have a broken main spring on the drivers side. and other suspension issues. It appears that the coach was converted from a standard leaf spring to a air spring setup on the drivers. What was done was kind of a make shift / home made setup. Also the Tag axle is set up with air springs but i think this was factory done but it is done as a two point setup with no way of holding the tag axle centered. I am working with a couple local logging truck mechanic / welders and they say they can get back together again. I have called Foretravel and left messages, but no call back yet. my coach must be to old to think about.
do any of you have suspension manuals / drive train manuals, or anything that may help get it back on the road. I am not form this area, i live in Colorado / Arizona (winter). currently stuck in Elma, WA

Very sorry to hear about your problem. I doubt what I have to say will help.......
First. When you call Foretravel most messages take a few days for reply but, speak directly to James Triana or Don Lee. These guys have been there almost as long as the factory. Second.. The Roadmaster although a strong chassis was bought by Monaco several years ago. These were also a heinz 57 of parts. It did originally have air tag but every where else should be leaf springs. Check a leaf spring assembly from a circa 1984 GM heavy truck ie: 6000,7000. These units had the 8.2 engines and were about the same weight front axle. Roadmaster used GM and Chrysler components primarily and sometimes an international would filter its way in the mix. I doubt Monaco could help but, you may try. I believe they acquired Roadmaster around 1987-88. Lots of luck to you!!! I feel your pain. I've been there!

that was the best lead's i have had so far, makes i will start looking for these old parts, did you happen to know what was the rear end, i told a Rockwell, but we are having trouble with finding the model #
