Title: Fault code
Post by: lavocat on September 11, 2010, 02:31:33 pm
On my 2006 Phenix, I have a fault code on the silver leaf total coach monitor that reads, "2 DC bulk capacitor overheating".  The compartment where the charger/inverter and other electronics was extremely hot when I opened it to check it out.  I left it open with an exterior fan blowing on it to help cool it off.  Any thoughts?

Gerard,

I don't know the cause of that particular fault code, but I would sure look at venting the compartment with a muffin fan(s) to run the charger inverter at lower temperature.  You would only want an intake in a cool clean area, though you could exhaust to the exterior if another basement compartment is not convenient.

Thanks Brett but it already has a muffin fan that vents below the compartment.  Don't know what caused it to overheat but now that I have reset both chargers and opened the door with an external fan, the temp has reduced and the code reset.
