Hi Mike,
Would you be interested in a Revue (the original brand used) DA-7169 (labeled right on the face plate) in-dash, fold-out color monitor for your coach as a replacement? I just happen to have an extra one! Are you going to the Topeka rally this month, I can bring it along for your perusal.
I'll post this again under... the right subject title
Jim,
The original monitor on a 2002 is an in dash style. I think they started using the fold out style in 2003. I am not sure how I could retrofit the dash to fit the fold out style.
I will not be in Topeka, but thank you for the offer.
I will probably use the TV or buy a cheap LCD screen to get by with until I find a better solution.
The Javelina replacement is too much money. Any other good aftermarket replacements? Is RV Cams a good source to use?
Thanks for the help.

Mike, there is absolutely no reason you cannot put a flip up monitor.
My original radio was similar to yours on my 2003.
I replaced it with an Alpine Flip up monitor with GPS, DVD, radio etc all in one unit.
Now I have 2 flip up monitors so I can have camera on one & gps on the other along with the other features.
Mike,
I replaced my in dash radio with a nice single din Jensen and it works great. I had previously removed my old monitor, which still worked, and replaced it with a 5.6 inch LCD TFT. It worked for about 5 months and then developed a short. I decided to go with the flip up monitor as I was having issues finding another small 5.6 LCD with reverse image. I attached a switch (mounted where the old contrast pot was installed) to the reverse lead from the radio and then when I'm parked I just flip the switch. If you would like the old CRT screen you are more than welcome to it.

Mike,
I think that is the name the guys have mentioned.on the forum. You might search RV Cams on Foreforum to see what comes up. Maybe someone will jump in with a suggestion. Yep, I too called Javelina too and didn't go that way either. My coach is a 2002 U-320 and the guy who ordered mine went upgrade on everything he could find. Newer LCDs will be better and cheaper now anyway.
See you soon,
Barry
Is your flip up monitor for the back camera original? It looks like the opening in the dash is the same as my 2002 with the flat monitor. It appears there is a trim bezel around the monitor to fill the space.
Do you know if the wiring is compatable in a 2002 for the flip up?

Not original. replaced 4 times. 3 under warranty. I finally went and bought a Jensen VM9312HD at Best Buy.
Now that they make multifunctional flip up monitor, you can have every input you want on these things.
Both of your radio & camera monitor holes are the same as mine.
On the radio side you would need a trim bezel as the flip up monitor only needs a single din.
Yes it should be the same. It is just 2 video RCA connections.
One for camera output & 1 for tank gauges coming from Javalina Audit unit.

Are you saying that the Jensen would display the tank levels, back up camera, GPS, be a stereo also? Would it cook dinner too?
That would be a great alternative to a new monitor. Does it have inputs for 2 RCA cables?

Mike,
The Revox fold-out I have available does and has all of these things and fits in a standard 2" x 7" standard stereo, cut-out space. Still might be too big for the flat monitor.
Yes it does all that and more. It does have 2 RCA inputs for Camera & tanks.
Not all of them do.
Thats why I bought that one.
Here is the manual
Barry,
Did you install the Jensen yourself, if so is it complicated? Where is the best place to buy the unit?

I bought it at Best Buy & I installed it myself.
Not a problem as I was replacing an other flip up monitor.
You will need the bypass code below to allow camera to work while not in reverse.
The parking brake bypass procedure is as follows:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
