Title: Replacing Microphor Toilet For A Standard RV Type Toilet
Post by: itsrobg on September 18, 2010, 11:29:31 am
I hate this Microphor Toilet.  When the vacuum valve malfunctions the water floods the floor inside the cabinet and shorts out the electric toilet.  The engineer must have graduated last in his class.  No manual way to use toilet like a regular RV toilet.
I want to replace it with a standard RV type toilet but realize there may be issues with the offset tank location etc.

Anyone accomplish this .

Thanks Ron

Rob,

I am the poster boy for replacing Microphor with a SeaLand toilet.  We did this last November and have never been happier.  I agree with your assessment of the designer/engineer skills.  Frankly, it is over-rated, over-priced and under performs.

I bought a SeaLand toilet with the attached hose.  The hose is very helpful.  I removed and installed the toilet myself.  On a scale of difficulty it is a 3 with 10 being the hardest.  If you decide to do this, I will be glad to talk with you on the phone.

I took four photos and wrote you a long message that I tried to send to you via PM.  It got kicked back to me.
Please go to your Messages and send me your email address.  Then I will forward my message to you.

Reminder ... you can not have attachments (ie photos) in a PM or in any reply via email to a message or PM ... Also as an FYI, sending photos via email increases the size of the file by ~35% as email is very inefficient ...  so that 1M file will actually consume 1.35M of bandwidth as an example.

We just purchased the Thetford, Style Plus for our U225 and we like it better than the Sea Land that came in our U300. I flushes much more thoroughly. The cost was under $200 and I added my own sprayer for $10 from the hardware store. Installation was a breeze since it came with its own new seal. Of course we were replacing a Thetford and not a Microphor.
