I've been trying to locate, if it exists, the GFI reset on my '91 U300 SAI. My unit is equipped with the inverter which is controlled from the panel above the kitchen counter corner.
I have power through the#5 breaker at the box which supplies power to these outlets. Fridge is also on breaker #5 and working on 120v currently.
All outlets from and including bath forward have no power. The light over dining table is also on that circuit, breaker #5, and has also quit functioning. The light appears to have a tap into the outlet next to it's switch. If there is no GFI it sure acts like one. My manuals make no mention of a GFI or reset location.
Have tried to contact James Triana but, he is at the rally/convention until Monday.
Anyone have any idea of where or if there is a GFI reset?
Thanks for any help,
John
Hi John. . .our reset is a red button between the two outlets in our bathroom receptacle. Sorry, not able to post a pic right now. ;D :)) :P
GFI's are normally found near a water source, meaning in the bathroom is the usual location where wet hands & feet might might not enjoy the large tingle.
FWIW
Dave
Thanks for the replies Jeff,Suzanne and Dave.
Have thoroughly rechecked the one bath outlet, all walls, all closets and cabinets but, no reset switch can I find.
I tried disconnecting from land line, activating the inverter and resetting the reset button on the inverter panel to see if there was any effect. No! Didn't work.
Maybe Monday there will be an answer from FT. Then, again, maybe one of the members has had this experience with this same problem
Thanks again to all, keep the thoughts coming,
John
Look for a tripped round circuit breaker on your inverter/charger.
So the outlet by the sink doesn't have 'trip and reset' buttons in between the two plug ins?
My GFI outlet is grey, has the buttons in between, on one side it says
'see instructions', and on the other side 'test monthly'. My '93 had the same model.
Thanks a million Dave Head!!!!
You were exactly right.
The former owners had put a very flat night light in the upper receptacle that obscured the push buttons.
Boy, do I feel dumb! been looking for a week and never considered looking UNDER the night light edge.
Dave,if our paths cross, the drink's on me.
Thanks to all for the great help,
John
Don't forget the old "applaud" Karma button, too :D
Michelle
Buy me the drink. I taught Dave that trick.*
*Just kidding
