Title: Contact Enhancers for electrical equipment
Post by: Dave Head on October 03, 2010, 09:30:40 pm
Everyone that does their own work on electrical connections should consider 'Deoxit' and 'Stabilant 22' for their tool kit. My little bottle of Stabilant has been around for about 10 years.

When it comes to 5 volt and below connections I ALWAYS use Stabilant. Its not cheap, but to me its worth it no matter what the cost!

Sounds great!
I just checked on Amazon due to the free quick & easy shipping.
They are rather proud of it at $85 for the 15ml Kit of Concentrate.
Hopefully it comes at a smaller & better price.

I have a small spray can of Radio Shack "Color TV Contact Cleaner"  ;D ;D.  Can't really imagine how long I've had it, but I still use it for any low voltage contact cleaning.  Radio Shack still has it - now called Tuner Control - $11.  Great stuff!

The 15ml concentrate will last several lifetimes...

I use DeOxit.  It actually works.  Not cheap, but I can save by buying it on eBay.

About the best out there was the stuff used at the Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge dealerships.  It carried the company name and had a part number.  Only problem was that you had to buy it in a 30 gallon drum.  By the quart would not have been bad.
