Title: What are these two pieces of equipment?
Post by: George Stoltz on October 15, 2010, 06:33:14 pm
I went exploring in my storage bays today and came up with three questions.

#1)  See photo #1  -  How do I turn this light on?  There is not a switch on either end.

#2)  See photo #2 -  What is this rectangular metal box with a knob on top?

#3) See photo #3 -    What is this gauge for?

Note:  All photos were taken in the third bay aft of the driver side wheel

George,
Please forgive me, I've already had a couple of Scotch's... 8)

I have no clue, it just goes to prove that these babies can get complicated, especially from the view of a 1997 U270 owner whose coach is the simplest Foretravel made.

I'm sure you'll get more valuable responses on your queries...

It's Friday...Have a brew or cocktail & unwind...

Peter,

Loved your answer.  I am about to have a margarita.  Salud!

What is this gauge for?
That is for your slide bladder pressure gauge and is mounted on your slide manifold.

If it is not mounted on the light follow the wire to somewhere in the compartment.
It has to be close to it.

Hey, George,

I will agree with Peter. My 1997 U295 (no slides, mechanical engine, no aqua-hot, analog TV, ...) doesn't have have a whole lot of stuff that your coach has.

Being something of a tinkerer, I would start twisting knobs and throwing switches. Then I would see what changes. I would be even more inclined to do that to your coach than to mine.  ;) If you would like, we could trade coaches for about six weeks and I could go exploring. (Or you could just wait for the response of the people who have already explored the newer coaches.)

George,

For the light, I would suspect it is controlled by a push button switch on the compartment door.  You should be able to follow the wire.  If I'm right, the bulb is probably burned out.

Pamala & Mike are correct, you can see the electric pump motor attached to the end of the tank.
Tank for hydraulic fluid to run the slide.
Great pic.
