The furnace under the couch is acting strange. I turn on the furnace at the thermostat, the furnace fan runs until it is fully vented, the burner kicks in and the furnace runs until preset thermostat temp is reached. The burner then cuts out but the blower never stops--I mean never!! I realize the blower should run until the furnace cools down (like the rear furnace) but it doesn't. Any ideas as to how to remedy this situation?
The first thing I would try is to open the outside door to the furnace and disconnect all of the spade clips to check for corrosion. It wouldn't hurt to spray a little electronics cleaner on each connection and reconnect. That usually takes care of the problem. If it doesn't, take off the thermostat cover, spray and clean. If that doesn't work it may be a limit switch. Now we've reached the limit of my knowledge. The real smart guys will need to chime in.
Kent--YOU I gotta meet!!! Thanks!!
Well I'm sure not coming to Wisconsin this winter. Hopefully we will begin our winter sojourn at the end of November. Do you become a Snowbird or Winter Texan? Shoot me a personal message if you are heading south. We may be able to set up a meet.
