We are encamped in Readyville, TN with Gary Omel. Gary taught us an optional way to level.
First we dump all excess air and then we level. In many cases this puts the first step much closer to the ground so it is easier for our short-legged dog to handle that step. Easier for us, too.

Always level from side to side first. If no side yellow lights are on, the vehicle may be leveled front to rear.
Lowering the vehicle completely before leveling is not recommended. If the vehicle has three point air leveling it should not be lowered before leveling. A corner of the vehicle can be raised by first raising a side then the end of the vehicle.

When I am on extremely uneven ground, I first "Raise" the coach to max height then level from that position. I have had good success getting my coach level by doing this when it would not level automatically... By starting at full height it does not have to pump up the lowest end... ;)
