I've checked the archives and haven't found anything regarding this issue, so forgive me if this is old info:
I have a "99 U320 and my Owners Manual identifies the air filter for the Isuzu 10KW as a Fleetguard AF1658K (NAPA # 6270).
Well... I can't say what the deal is for other Isuzu Gen Sets, but I tried to change mine today, and found out that the Air Filter for my particular Isuzu 10KW Gen Set is a Fleetguard AF435KM. I don't know the NAPA crossover yet, but will post on Monday when I'm able to get to NAPA.
The bottom line here, is that the Owner's Manual has some incorrect info. At leat for my unit, anyway.
Russell,
I hope you were able to get your money back for the wrong size filter. I can report that for the 2000 U320 the filter identified in the manual is correct. I just changed mine for the first time yesterday. Interesting, the manual says that this air filter can be removed and the dust knocked out of it. I went with a new one.
I bought the replacement filter over two years ago. This was the first time I had the need to change it... So the bottom line is that I have a NAPA 6270 air filter for anybody who needs one. Just let me know and I'll send it to you.
Glad you mentioned that George. I meant to add that to the first post, but I just polished off a bottle of Barley Wine (high ABV beer) that I picked up in Bar Harbor, Main early this summer. God only knows if I even spelled everthing right, much less forget some of the details.
Seriously though, if anyone can use a NAPA 6270 air filter for an Isuzu 8KW, I'll be glad to send it to you. It'll be a week or two before I'm back in town to take care of it, but first person to shout will get it.
Russell, I can use the filter, I sent you a private Message.
Thanks Bill Willett
