My inverter burned up but I do not know what caused it. I had a Heart Interface 25. What is the recommended replacement?
Our Heart Interface 25 also burned up and also destroyed two Tripp-Lite powerstrips that were charcoal inside. Luck to not have had a fire. Bad smoke smell for a while from the burnt powerstrips. We also do not know what happened, but the Heart units are a bit long in the tooth, and I should have replaced it long before it self destructed.
We and others have replaced our Heart 25 with Xantrex Prosine 2.0. Panel uses the same phone-type cable so no new panel cable needs to be run.
Prosine 2.0 is a much different model than Prosine 2500 or 3000.
Prosine 2.0 is a more flat design than the square'ish Heart 25, but it fit on our ceiling mounted brackets used to hold the Heart.
Heart is transformer style modified-sine-wave 2500 watt inverter & 125 amp charger.
Prosine is an electronic (non transformer) true-sine-wave 2000 watt inverter
& 100 amp charger.
We think we made a major improvement with our new Prosine 2.0.
We installed it ourselves.

I haven't needed them so I don't have any first hand experience. According to him, they were very friendly and knowledgeable about what the common problems were with the different models and makes and if repairs were worth it or not. They used to have a good selection of refurbished units but I see they don't have any now.
