Just had to share this with all of you...I'm trying to learn all I can about Foretravels as I search for one to fit our family. On a whim, I sent a private message to wolfe10 (Brett Wolfe) asking for a little advice on a unit. What do you know....Brett lives in my neighborhood! The Wolfes graciously met me at their coach today and spent almost 2 hours showing me their motorhome and helping me think through my decision. I'm sure they had much better things to do than educate me, but you'd never know it.
What a treat for me, and I'm so grateful to meet wonderful folks like the Wolfes in our search for a motorhome for our family.
None of this will surprise you all who have known them, but I just wanted to share my good fortune with you!

This is fairly typical. A new-to-us Foretravel friend who we had not yet met in person spent at least 6 hours inspecting the coach we wanted to buy because we did not want to travel 1,000 miles. You will find lots more help here. We look forward to hearing more from you.
I'm thinking of selling mine. I will know for sure after February when my daughter either gets in to UF or not. If she does, we will probably keep it as we will be making a lot of visits. Her second choice is USF here in Tampa. I already know that I can't take a real trip next year as my vacation will combined with a business trip to France. The coach isn't getting any younger and it seems a shame to just let it sit. Brett has seen it so he could tell you a little about it. And you are both right about the people here. Many, including the Wolfe's, have been such a big help to me. I was so happy to meet them when they sailed into Tampa. I think Foretravel folks are a lot like the coaches: first class.
Biggest challenge seems to be finding a floor plan to accomodate the whole family - which includes DW, me, 2 boys (13 & 9), and, sometimes, our dogs. I'm starting to fear that a non-slide Foretravel just won't do it. Not to mention friends that they like to bring along.
When I was interested in my first coach, Don Hay inspected it in Nacogdoches for me and pronounced it a winner. I made my deal based on his recommendation. Flew in from FL and bought it. When we decided to move up, he inspected my current coach, too.
You are very fortunate to have Brett close by. Not only do you get someone who knows his Foretravels, but someone who knows diesels too! Listen closely to him. He has probably forgot more about Foretravels than many know.
I hope you find the right Foretravel for your needs. Listen to Brett and you can't go wrong.
So, do any of you travel with 2 children - or, do you have any advice on floorplans that can be adapted to our family's needs? I thought about 2 opposing sofas, but Brett raised a good point - that, made into beds, they'll be nearly touching.

We travel with two teenagers, opposing couches and it works perfectly...............best of luck.

We are also new to the FT family, and had about a zillion questions ( we bought our Foretravel before finding this group ) and have had the folks here jump right in and give us tips and important info we couldn't hope to get elsewhere. Ummm,,, Just about everybody.

I just wanted to chime in..I have 98 U270 FT and love it. I have owned it for year and have put 7K miles on it with my young family. I looked at several dozen coaches before deciding FT was the way to go...chassis, quality, reliability, and the fact that for the money it is without question the greatest value in the MH market. People who know motorhomes understand what the FT is all about. The older FT's have great value when compared to the competition. The quality of the coach is second to none. Go compare a CC to FT and just look at the electrical system. Ideally you will find what you are looking for. Dont be afraid of a coach with 100K miles on it..spend a little money and have someone who knows MH's go through it for peace of mind. Best of luck and happy holiday's
