In another post they were talking about the inverter, I recently ordered a Xantrex 12-25 remote #84-2056-01 , The coach has the regular remote with the dip switches on back. The reason I ordered this is because of the power share settings. Don't know much about inverters, this has a Freedom 25 inverter/ battery charger by heart interface. I thought I had to use a small Honda 2000i generator for the late night movies. See lot of people use those little generators with propane to fuel it, very quite . Last coach did not have an inverter 1980 Prevost bus, she was old, So I didn't think the batters would last that long with inverter. The new remote I guess can change the charging AMPs so a small generator 20 AMPs will work. If any knows how to set remote or has any thoughts on subject that would be appreciated thanks again Art Twaddell.
When you receive the Remote, it should have an operators manual with it that will remove the mystery as it contains a lot of information on inverter/charger operation that is NOT included in the inverter/charger manual.
Why on earth they did not include everything in the inverter/charger manual is anyone guess. Mine is, that it was a way for Trace/Xantrex dealers to make money adjusting everyones I/C. If you don't have the high dollar remote, you can't make very many changes to the way the I/C does its job.
If you are concerned about your battery situation for boondocking I would suggest investing in either a Tri-Metric or Penta-Metric meter by Bogart Engineering as the Pentametric with computer interface will tell you ANYTHING you could possibly want to know about your system.
Another neat product for RV's is a Model 20-CTR with two CT's for your 120 volt situation on your shore power and your generator.
Let us know how it goes after you get the remote and the new manual.

Is the control cabling the same? That would definitely make things easier for me. I'm quite happy with my Freedom 25 - both charger and inverter. I have no desire to change to a pure sine until forced to. This appears to be a nice upgrade.
One wonders if the control cabling is the same for the Freedom 3000... That sure would make upgrading from a Freedom 25 simple AND give you 3KW of pure sine wave...
I received the remote and read the manual , It was a little confusing at first so I called Zantrex and talked to them and figured it out. UN plugged the old remote and plugged the new one in to the same phone cable. The set up was easy enough just pushed, set-up button and set type of batteries , If I had the newer Freedom 25 (#458 ) I would have more options , But I needed the setting for Power Share so I can lower the incoming AMPs so I can run a small 20 AMP gen If needed. Does the new remote occupy the same space as the old? I got mine today but my coach is in storage...
