Do we have any type of load sharing technology or whatever that prevents both A/Cs from starting at the same time?

I don't know if it is intentional or not, but we seem to have a built in delay. If I turn on both ACs at the exact same time, one actually starts up 15 seconds sooner than the other. I've always thought that was a perfect solution to both starting up at once.

You should not have an issue starting both at once if you are on 50 amps service. I run three ACs on 50 am service and have room left still. The AC are in series so I they may talk to each other to prevent the same start up but I have never had a problem and turn on all three at the same time all the time when it is hot. Especially in Texas...
Like John I can turn on both of my ACs at the same time using the master on/off switch. They come on about a minute apart, the rear one first. As John mentioned, it should not be an issue with a 50 amp service. The two ACs are on separate 115v legs.
But nothing to allow for both to sort-of run at the same time on 30A service? I remember something was available years ago (before A/C units shared a duct) for 30A gassers. I think our current arrangement with shared ducting makes this unnecessary, just leave one turned off.
