I would like to receive some of your suggestions and or pictures on BBQ grill mounts or mounting on some sort of slide out from the storage bays, or a pipe of some sort like boats do. We grill outside 90% of the time and want to make it easier to maneuver or "set-up" our grill.
I have been searching the net and there's not much out there for mounting or attaching your grill to your coach. I have seen one that attaches with bars that screw to the side of the coach and you mount the grill to the bars, but I really don't want to screw anything to the sides, and also i was thinking of the heat factor. SOOO do you have any suggestions, pictures, thoughts etc.....???
I can weld and fabricate so thats not an issue, just not good at design.
Oh I know its COLD out and most people probably aren't thinking of being outside let alone grilling outside, but summer is around the corner and now is the time for me to build some sort of mount.

I've never really been comfortable having the grill too close to the coach. A couple of experiences over the past 2 years and I'm less so. So while I can't help with a mount, I will offer my concerns for consideration.
First, doing a high temp burn off to clean our grill, the base for our Weber Q actually melted and the grill sagged a little.
On another occasion, the quick-connect hose we used developed an internal leak between the braided hose and the rubber shealthing, and ended up looking like a snake that had swallowed a mouse. We disconnected the hose in time, and just sitting in the sun the next day, it blew (sounded like a gunshot!). Had that happened while the grill was still connected to the coach (or worse, in use) it could have been a disaster.
Now we use the portable bottles and put the grill a safe distance from the coach.
We use the Weber Q and they do make a nice collapsible, rolling stand for it.

I went to my local propane dealer and had a 30 foot extension hose made for my propane tank to grill connection...I want to be as far away as possible from the coach when grilling with propane.

I have about a 12 foot hose and it is not real flexible. In chilly weather it is almost stiff. Do you have the same issue?

Peter is right about keeping the grill away from the coach. We have a Weber Q. The regulator on a Q will not take the pressure of our on-board propane tank and ours failed in use and enveloped one end of the grill in flames. This is not good under any circumstances, but especially close to your motorhome.
Weber replaced all of the parts and I had a better regulator installed. No problems since.

My hose seems to be made of a rubber that so far has not stiffened up, but it's brand new (about three years). You may want to replace your hose. Honestly, I have not tried it in real cold weather...say below 50 degrees.
We have a Weber Baby Q with a folding, rollaway stand. It fits in the right front spot in the Joey Bed. I just pull the bed out a short way, set up the stand. . .takes, oh I don't know, less than 1 minute. Then I easily lift the grill out and onto the stand, Viola!
Thanks to all that replied, I had been thinking of some sort of pullout and that work area would be a small "kitchenette", but after some of your posts I'm thinking other wise.
It sounds like everybody answered my next question "what grill do you have" looks like the Weber Q is the one? We currently have at home a Weber Genesis and a Weber Jr. on the MH but they stopped making replacement parts for it.

The below link shows the Camp Chef stove we use to hook up to the motorhome propane supply tank with the long hose we had made. We generally use cast iron cookware on the stove and a wood fire for grilling animal flesh type stuff.

We've used the "Q" for as long as we've had our FT. We considered several, but what I like about the Q, which I didn't find in other options
1) Cast iron grate. Great for those grill marks, see #2.
2) High BTU output. I can sear a steak or fajitas
3) Large surface area - plenty of room for all the veg I need to cook for fajitas
4) You can cook with the top closed - which I like to do for lower temperature cooking like chicken or a roast. Some other grills, like the Coleman Road Trip and O Grill are limited in this area (we considered both of those).
Now I'm craving fajitas.... ;)

Petebob, we saw a few years ago a man in Canton at the trade days there that made his own grill to cook like yours his set up and had a griddle and a burner.

One word. HEB. We don't have them here in the Metroplex (sniff, sniff :'( ), but I stocked up on packages of HEB fajita meat (not the Hill Country Fare one, the HEB one) in Marble Falls last October. I see from the member map you're likely in HEB territory.....
Steve makes killer margaritas and Mexican martinis...... and homebrew for those who prefer hop-infused malty beverages.....
I think we all need to meet up this spring so we can break in any new grill you buy ;D

I'm still up here in ski country south of Buffalo, NY. And I am still cooking on my Weber Baby Q. Its outside on the back patio. I like good steaks and the only way I can cook a good steak at home is on the Q! Don't have a grill cooktop in the house, so outside I go to cook my steak. Have done it in below 0F degrees. Have never found another grill that will cook a steak like the Q. And that is coming from a lump charcoal guy!
But you don't want to mount it on the motorhome!! Get a portable stand or table.
Oh, I don't use the little 1 or 2 pound tanks, but keep a couple on hand for emergencies. I brought a 10 lb tank at a welding supply dealer and a propane hose at Tractor Supply Can run it almost forever with that.
Consumer reports consistently rates the Weber Q highly. I have an older Q200, and the folding stand. You can use 2lb gas canisters, but I also have the 20lb tank conversion, or can run a feed from my coach tank with the bbq grill kit.
Love the Q200 - small enough to fit in Joey, big enough to feed a crowd. Not too heavy to handle moving in and out of coach. May have been superseded by a different model. Did have the gas governor go out n the first year, Weber sent a free replacement and it was good as new. If I was in the market for a grill for my coach, that is what I would buy.
We too love our Webber Q and collapsable stand.
The older Q's could not be hooked up to the bulk tank on the coach but it is my understanding that the newer ones can be connected directly. I removed the Webber regulator and replaced it with a $13.95 standard grill regulator from ace hardware (the new Webber regulator is $40.00). Now I cannot use the portable tanks but that is not an issue for us.
If you plan to use the on board propane tank, be sure the connection to the tank is either installed or inspected by a professional propane technician and that you use an extension hose designed for that purpose.
If you watch Amazon can get some great pricing on the Webber Q. I have seen the Webber Q120 and folding stand for $150.00.
