Title: U295 step
Post by: pedalman on March 15, 2011, 08:47:37 pm
2000 u295 step. Can it be closed with engine off? Also, will the step stay closed with engine not running?

                                    Thanks all,

Not the way FT has it setup. You will need to add another switch. I have seen it done with an extra switch.

Barry, I like the info on the step modification and need to ask if you know the amount of current draw when in the modified  position. I am guessing but have not checked it to be in the 200 mil range ??
Thanks,
Dave M

I am too lazy to actually check  ;D

Friend of mine followed Barry's instructions exactly on his 98 U295,  then did the same on my 02 U270.  Works perfectly on both rigs.  Really like having the option to close the step when leaving the rig temporarily.

I have done that modification as per Barry Beam's link and we find it works fine. Stops people standing on it to see in too !!
