Title: Fuel hoses, an update
Post by: John Cooper on March 15, 2011, 11:49:12 pm
I had forgotten that I had asked about fuel hoses and gotten a response a while back so I did some research a few days ago and I came up with the following:

1.  Gates makes a low permeation hose, type 4210 that has a fluoroelastomer tube liner.

2.  Trident Marine makes A1-15 (365 series) and B1-15 (305 series) fuel hoses.  In looking at the tables for each kind of hose it appears that the A1-15 hose has the lower permeation rate.  Both can be used with bio-diesel as well as regular diesel.

3.  Goodyear makes a fuel injection hose, SAE30R9, that also has a fluoroelastomer tube liner.

I think I am going to try to find the Trident hose since it is the only one that lists the ratings and they are much better than the minimum standard.  Being in Houston some times has its advantages with all sorts of marine suppliers in the area.
