Title: Air step power source
Post by: Rob H on March 30, 2011, 04:42:48 pm
I am trying to have an air step valve replaced and the tech cannot find the power source to the valve. Can someone help with an answer...Thanks Rob 2005 U320

Glad to say it has fixed, it seemed to be a loose wire and probably some dirt in the valve. It was a real pain but, I must say the folks at Buddy Gregg TX were very good about it and do care. They adjusted the bill for the delay and I think it was more than fair. Thank you for the help; hope to meet you on the road someday,
Rob

Rob,

James Triana at the factory is a good resource if you haven't called him yet.

Hello Michelle,
The folks here, Buddy Gregg of TX have been playing phone tag with James or someone at FOT. It seems FOT have some 40+ coaches in right now and are very busy. I came in for a leaking hub seal, when I tried to leave the step would not retract. So I have been stuck waiting on parts and now the techs are scratching their heads trying to get the step working. The view of this parking lot is getting old...
Thank you for the suggestion

Take heart! At least one member spent 7 weeks in that parking lot!

Buddy Gregg as in over in Lewisville?  We're almost directly west of you in the Argyle area, not that far away.

I remember reading FOT was busy this week with lots of coaches dropped off while their Motorcading owners are on a cruise.  You might try leaving James a phone message with your cell number - he's always been great at calling us back and he might be able to get ahold of you easier than the tech at Buddy Gregg.

Wish we could help but we have an electric step.

Just had a thought - do y'all have the box of Foretravel stuff with you?  The schematics to your coach should be in the spiral bound manual, towards the back.  That might help give an idea where the step gets its power, or at least help narrow down where to look.

Rob - I'm at FOT right now if I can be some help.  If you still have the problem, can you describe it a little more?    Is the problem in the air pump that actually moves the step or the vacuum generator or the the air source to the generator?

I think this is the wire you are looking for.
Should be located on passenger side front dash cover.
Remove cover with velcro & there is all your relays.
