Title: Brake service in St. Augustine, FL area????
Post by: Raymond Jordan on April 16, 2011, 11:31:36 pm
Hi all,
My  friends are in the St. Augustine, FL area. They have a 2000 U 320. They have a right front brake problem. Pad has hung up and gone metal to metal. Anyone know of a service facility in that area? Any idea what a set of pads, and a new rotor should cost?
  Thanks for any help,
Raymond Jordan

I looked at the rv service review and the have a Ring power listed that has a few rave reviews. Might give them a try.

Mark,

I think you are approaching this problem correctly.  I, too, have read the RV Service reviews to help me find a place for service.  The place I decided on had one really bad review and a bunch of positive comments,  so I asked the service manager about the bad one.  His answer was very believable and so I decided to take my coach there.  I was pleased with their work.  We were even able to stay overnight in back while waiting for a part to be delivered.  I would go back.

St. Augustine is a neat place to be.  You can find plenty of nice places for lunch.

The rotor and shoes are pretty steep.  I think it is  a couple hundred for the pads.  I did both sides when I had to do it so I might be off a bit. The rotor was much more.  I think I had 1500 in rotor and pads and labor.

I replaced two rotors here in Nacogdoches two years ago.  Each rotor was $350.  Foretravel only had one, so I bought the second through the local NAPA store for the same amount.  Could be a bit more by now, but that's a start.

We had brake service in Missoula, MT at a big truck center last August.  Two new rotors, pads, seals and other associated parts and labor came to $1484.  Seemed like a fair price for what was involved.

Hi All,
My friends are back from Florida. One front caliper, new front pads, one new rotor, two pin kits, and two spring kits. This was for their 2000 U 320.
Caliper $1,010.63 part # A13263M1157 left
Rotor $290.18 part #3218Y1065
Pads $386.64 each part #KSR7017173
Pin kit $86.70 each part # 15013
Spring kit $13.81 each part # 15018
Plus labor!!
Brakes are not inexpensive.
