Title: Hatch Spring lift replacement

Is there a trick to getting the old ones off the socket or do they just pop off?  Are they the Atwood brand?

I do not remember the brand but they do pop off.  The problem is getting them back on.  Some one on this forum mentioned a solution but I do not remember what it was.
