Title: How repair corner of dash on '04?
Post by: Larry Rubin on April 19, 2011, 02:32:57 pm
A corner of the left hand portion of the dash (section holding headlight switch) snapped off- apparently it is a weak area.  Anyone know how to repare it?

Larry,

This may be a bit of a hunt but I knew a guy who had his own business (in Illinois) repairing bathtubs and counter tops for builders.  You know, a carpenter drops his hammer in a bathtub and out pops a chip.  This guy could fill it in and make it look brand new.  He also worked with plastics.

If you don't get a better answer here (and I hope you do) you could call a local builder and ask if they have a sub-contractor who can make repairs to plastic materials.

Try auto dealerships, we have a local guy that repairs/paints plastic bumpers and interior dash panels

Larry, I don't know where you are now, but I met the guy that does the repairs for used Foretravel's that need attention when I was at the factory in Nac. There are professionals in just about every major city that repair this type of problem for used car dealers. As suggested. check with local dealers. It not a big deal.
