Title: HWH Control Modules - Which are which?
Post by: Dick S on May 01, 2011, 08:06:54 pm
I have three HWH Control Modules, all with Plexiglas fronts. I know that the one which has only two rings and that is located on the front bulkhead is the "Front Air" Module.
The other two are on the aft bulkhead. One of then is the "Rear Air - Rm 2 Module" and the other is the "Central Control - Rm 1 Module".
Can you tell me which is which from the attached photos?

If you check the current rating on the fuses/leds and compare to the following, it should tell you

The selected media item is not currently available.
One of the boards will have mostly 15 amp fuses, that's the "central control, room module"  The one with mostly 5 amp fuses is the "rear and tag level".

(I have spent way.... too many hours going through that manual trying to figure out our leveling problem  ;))

Edited to add - the little paddle card at the top of the right image is your level sensor.

Edited again to add looks like the left one is the rear and tag, the one on the right (with the level sensor in it) is the central control, room

Outside one is Room 1 Central Control
Inside one is Room 2 Air Seal Manifold Board & Rear Tag Level output Board

Thank you both, I have them properly labeled now.
Michelle, since you posted that Repair manual I have reread all our manuals on this. Has that manual helped you troubleshooting your problem?
I wonder if HWH has a similar repair manual for the 2000 series?

Sadly, no.  James T. and HWH are now trying to diagnose the issue based on the symptoms (coach raising front at the same time it raises the rear, but we think only after it's raised the curbside).  Could be a weak solenoid, could be a valve leaking through, could be a control board, could be software/firmware.

The repair manual I posted was for the 2000 series used in our coach, #6106, which has slides but no locks on the slide rooms (unlike the style some of the 2002 and maybe early 2003 like Barry's has).

If you have the older style slide mechanism/locks in #6075, try this link and scroll down to the 2000 series and see which might fit your coach

HWH Operators Manuals for Foretravel (http://www.hwhcorp.com/foretravel3.html)

Ours appeared to be 26564 (tag axle, lifting tag, 1-2 slides, no room locks).  25178 mentions tag (but not lift), 1-2 slides, and room locks.

Michelle, I was referring to the series 600 4 point leveling repair manual you posted and wondering if they have a series 2000 manual that is similar. I'm guessing the troubleshooting steps in the leveling manual didn't help you. I know you have been working on that for some time. Is there a way to re-flash the software/firmware?
I do have the same Operators Manual (ml26564). Dick

I don't see one that's FT-specific like the series 600.

There is one that's generic for the 2000 series, but I don't think it's entirely accurate for a FT (for example, it doesn't have the various regulators that are specific to FT coaches, like the 65 psi one for the front).  I didn't upload it to the board since it isn't FT-unique, but here's the link:

http://hwhcorp.com/ml31043.pdf (http://hwhcorp.com/ml31043.pdf)

We've run through the basic troubleshooting and haven't seen any obvious faults.  James had us verify a few things as well.  At least our recent trip let us identify more specific conditions and behaviors so we passed those along.  It seems to be a specific sequence of events, so hopefully that will help with the diagnosis.

On a positive note, my 2AM response time in jumping out of bed, running to the front of the coach, observing the control panel status lights, then whipping out the 2 ft. bubble level improved significantly with this last trip  :))  I guess being a very light sleeper has its advantages (I wake up whenever the coach adjusts level or the aux compressor runs).

Thank you. I like this one better. I has the right touch panel and includes the tag so the diagrams are closer.
I am LOL at your 2AM response time. Personally I can sleep through a thunder storm. But not Rockey, the terrify her.
Here's a link with 7 diagnostic steps from HWH. Pretty basic though.
General Diagnostic Techniques (http://www.hwhcorp.com/generaldiag.html) I am trying to work my way through HWH's Online Technical School. I probably won't get through all of the lessons. You have probably seen this here:

Cool!  No, I hadn't seen those.  Looks like there are still some modules for them to upload but it looks like something we should do this year.  Karma to you!
