I've started cleaning my Onan Emerald III generator and I came across several things I have questions about. The first concerns the wiring behind the control panel (see connector 1 and 2 pictures). If these connectors come apart I would like to use CorrosionX on them like I did on the Molex connector but I have had no luck in separating them. Should they come apart?
There were three wires that went into the sleeve that you see in the third picture. While trying to find out if they were connected inside the sleeve I found that they were just stuffed in there and went no where. Should I just cut them at the connectors they came from, which happen to be the same connectors mentioned above, or are they for some future purpose?
The last picture shows what appears to be the choke lever for the carb. On the other side, where I could not get a picture, appears to be a dash pot with a arm that goes through the lever on the other side. There is a hole on the far side lever that appears to be for a spring but there is not one. Should there be a spring or does the choke lever just float until actuated by the dash pot?
