I have two of these inverters in my coach. One of them is the cause for my recent electrical problems. Not repairable according to FOT and xantrex. If I replace it I have to replace both as this model is not made by xantrex any longer. The new SW 3000 by xantrex will not interface with my silverleaf system according to FOT and xantrex. So I either replace both or find a RS 3000 somewhere. If anyone knows of one anywhere please advise or give me contact info and I will take a look. To replace both inverters with units that will interface will require a change to silverleaf and result in a cost of about $10 grand. I seem to remember what my old cajun Daddy used to say, "Big dogs get big fleas". Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerard
I like the quote about the fleas...very appropriate. Why don't you try Google...

Good suggestion, Peter! I searched on Xantrex RS 3000 inverter and came up with a couple. http://www.google.com/#q=xantrex+RS+3000+inverter (http://www.google.com/#q=xantrex+RS+3000+inverter)

Gerald, Contact Gary O at 1xxxyyyzzzz (see next post), If my old memory is correct he salvaged some of these and repaired them. He may not want to sell them but it never hurts to ask. Tell him Gary B gave you his number. He is traveling this week so may take time to get back to you.
Editing Gary B's post and PM'ing Gerald the phone number. Non-member guests can see the first 128 or so characters of a post.

Oooooooops, Sorry Steve brain is in idle mode, reminders of little things like this are timely and appreciated. thanks for correcting.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. I had already googled and checked everyone of them and even though it is listed they don't have them anymore as they were discontinued. The one on ebay is not the same model. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Give these guys a call about repairing. I know they actually repair inverters and I know of one very happy customer.
Welcome to Inverter Service Center! (http://www.inverterservicecenter.com/)
This guy is not close to you but if I were you I'd give him a call and ask for advice.
Could save you a lot of $$$

Not sure what is wrong with your inverter, but after an accidental application of 240 volts by plugging into an incorrectly wired 20 amp outlet, my Heart 2000 Inverter/charger didn't do either. I thought it had been cooked, but the second time I took it apart, I found a blown 1/4 amp fuse on the PC board. So small it was hard to see. After it was replaced and the inverter rebooted as described in the manual, it has been working properly. Sometimes they are repairable. I also had to rebuild the PC board on the "Little Wonder Vac" amazingly nothing else damaged.

I have an RS3000 too and remember it going dead on me once. I couldn't get it do anything from the remote control panel. I finally just tried the reset button on the front of the main unit and it started working again. It's been working fine ever since and I forgot all about unit Jerry's post above.
