Where is the electric heating element located on the hot water heater and how is it accessed? It is not obvious to us in the compartment where the gas connections, thermocoupler and etc are located on our U295 or our friends U270. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Unfortunately, the heating element is located at the rear of the HW heater. Mine had to be changed back in 2003 when I purchased the coach The folks at the Tennessee dealer changed it for me. The unit has to be moved foreward a few inches to be able to remove and replace the heater element. The HW heater is bolted and sealed with a black adhesive (same used to glue the weather stripping on the storage compartments).
If you are nimble and do not have a bad shoulder, it can be changed through the access hole....
