Title: Transmission Control Panel Lights
Post by: loveourbigyetti on May 16, 2011, 04:46:56 pm
I have recently purchased a 1999 U320 4200 and I love it.  Although, I have had to fix a few items but nothing major.  My current project is replacing some of the burned out dash lights.  The one that has got me puzzled is the Transmission Control Panel.  I have no lights on it except for the gear position.

Does anyone know how to change the bulb in the Transmission Panel?

Thanks,
Trent

Are the up, down, forward, neutral, reverse and mode buttons on the panel supposed to light? On my '99 U320 only the gear position light and the mode light illuminate. Guess you can try using the electroluminescent panel intensity knob next to the retarder joy stick to see if the blue edge lighting helps, or perhaps the map light if really needed (although that rocker switch only lights when the map light is on).

The only parts of our control pad that light are the indicators for "Select" and "Monitor." The pads for D, N, R, ^, v, and Mode are not illuminated.

Hey Trent, Its Mark. We just met at Kars park while we were there to watch the Shuttle launch. Glad you joined the forum. You will learn a lot here. Welcome aboard shipmate. As you saw when you looked at my 99 that the control panel does light up. Maybe someone else out there has some idea's. It was great to have met you and I look forward to seeing you again someday. Let me know if you get up to Jacksonville someday. Tanya sends her regards to your wife as well. Have a blessed night.
