Today I talked to FOT parts dept, they have the replacement LEDs to replace the Halogen bulbs for $15.00 ea X 20.
They simply replace the Halogens exactly, is this a good idea or should I wait for a better deal ?
Bulbs start at about $21.00 but with a quantity drop and with the Foretravel Club discount, it goes to the above price.
Cooler and less heat and ma.
Ideas ?
Decent price, depending on shipping cost. We've seen the pucks in person and they appear to be the ones with the constant current driver on them.
Personal preference for us is a warm white since it most closely mimics the halogen light level. You might verify these are warm white if you want that look. Cool white is more like fluorescent lighting, more "blue". You might also ask the lumens. 120-140 is going to be similar to the existing 10 watt halogens. You probably don't want to go lower.
Here are the ones we used in our undercabinet fixtures, but he only has 3 in stock at the moment.

I replaced the halogen bulbs in the 28 puck lights in our coach with the following product: http://www.prudentrver.com/ledlamps.html#G4-2N (http://www.prudentrver.com/ledlamps.html#G4-2N)
Due to the cost, I replaced 14 at a time. We've been very pleased with this LED.
Good Luck,
Dave Abel
Jeez, I have no idea about much, just that Mike at FOT parts, sez this is the replacement, brighter than the halogens, cool and last for ever (nearly). And just plug in, yeah!!
Well its too late now, they are somewhere in the pipeline (UPS) now. I always learn things directly from the left hip pocket where it is always more memorable. ???
I believe the price of LED bulbs will come down. CFL's have dropped in price. Flat screen TV's have dropped in price. Computers have dropped in price. If one does a lot of dry camping it could be worth it to buy now.
