Rainy day here so we swapped out a couple of weak struts. While we did remove the brackets, I was wondering if the sturts can SAFELY be replaced without removing the brackets?
Bungee cords work well......sorry, couldn't resist. I don't know the answer to your question....BE SAFE
Jeffy, I thought I was the only one to be that big of a "Smart AXX". George, we are both old and feeble minded. You have to forgive us.
George;
If you're talking about the interior cabinet gas-struts, "yes" they can easily be changed without removing the brackets. I hold the door up with my head while I R&R the strut. I use a small screw-driver to lift the clip that secures the strut to the bracket. "Individual results may vary".
Chad is correct. Very quick and easy. At most two minutes per door,
But, since Sandy will appreciate the doors staying open by themselves, do NOT tell her how easy it is-- you can be her hero.

As my Drill Instructed said use your BRAIN HOUSING GROUP> ;D ;D ;D
Not to worry about forgiveness. I raised the question so that someone else could learn. Not everyone here is a mechanical genius. Humor in good fun is funny.
George, it was meant to use your head to hold up the cabinet door, nothing more.
Bill, I think George was responding to Jeff's comment about the bungee cord. We all know George has a great sense of humor and can take it as well as dish it out. But I do like the Brain Housing description.
Note to Brett Wolfe: 46 seconds exactly. Two minutes??? Not for me.
Note to Bill Willett: I used my BRAIN HOUSING GROUP
I had one more strut and one door that needed it, so I decided to implement what I learned here. It was so much fun.
Thanks guys.
Now that's using your head George.
George's noggin can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!!!
