I made a little boo boo filling our fresh water tank via our RO system and it overflowed during the night. About 0400 I heard the water monitor alert going off in the manifold/water pump bay. There was a quarter inch or so of water on the floor extending behind the manifold and under tanks.
I know the overflow exits ahead of the left duals and it was sure wet there, but why or how could water get into that bay. The RO system fills the tank real slow.
And, yes JD I did install a float switch. This was my first opportunity to use it, my filtration system is portable, and I forgot to plug in the cable for the float switch. :(
D'oh!
On our coach, there is a hose attached with velcro near the Manabloc. I think it is a manual fill hose for the fresh water tank. If your coach is set up with such a hose, some water could have flowed from there. There could also be other leaks at the top of the tank that aren't revealed without a long, slow fill beyond capacity.
The caulking around the drain ports in the bottom of the pump bay is not secure on our coach. If the coach has an appropriate tilt, the water that sometimes gets in the rear bays drains quickly through the space around the drain lines.
Dick,
Are you filling via other than the fill switch/hose reel? Our '03 has a tank float switch that shuts off fill about 1" from the top of the tank.
