I replaced the dumb stock converter charger in April last year with a Progressive Dynamics 9270 with charge wizard. It is in the same place behind the stairs in a mostly empty compartment. I heard a loud noise and traced it to the fan on the unit. PD is going to send me a replacement as the warranty is 2 years. I'm wondering if the Florida heat and lack of ventilation in that compartment might be a very bad place for this unit. Of course the old one lasted 18 years and still worked fine when I replaced it for cooking the batteries.
