Title: 95 U240 Video Wiring
Post by: Jerry & Coleen on July 05, 2011, 11:37:31 am
I have received numerous suggestions for replacing the Front TV.  Thanks.  Question today.  It appears this coach was wired at the factory for a Wineguard switching/amp unit.  It has the standard Wing on the roof and a manual satellite dish.  No where can I find evidence of where a satellite receiver was installed.  There is a TV output jack under the front passenger side table.  Along with a added RF cable that goes up into the right front overhead cabinet.  It does appear in the rear TV area someone installed a VCR.  I will remove it.  And replaced the TV there with another analog unit.  On the drivers side forward cabinet there is a three position switch.  Labeled ant, sat, cable.  Another power/three position sel switch in the hall.  There is also a cable input in the bay.  Also in the corner of the hallway closet is a ABC switch that appears to be added at some point.

If anyone has a FT with similar wiring please help.  What I really need is information as to where the RF cable from the roof sat antenne is connected.  My cell is 480-684-0626.

I did look at Barry's site at the posted upgrades there.  Bret's fold down install was neat.  Another one was on a U300 that looked nice.  Actually all were nice.  Seems the thing to do is to remove the existing cabinet.  It's too small to hold a modern TV anyway.

This was one neat system in 95.  Still is if I can discover where the various RF feeds are located.

Regards.

You have the Winegard system like mine (my 93 and 95) - the amp and 'switchbox' are under the false floor in the closet. Both my coaches had a Datron (93 - inmotion), 95 stationary). On both, they ran the cable from the satellite to an A/B switch paired with the cable feed into the Winegard. You set your winegard switches to 'Cable'. 'A' was Cable fed into the Winegard, 'B' was Satellite fed into the Winegard 'cable in'. This works well, you could do it other ways...

Thanks Dave.  Another piece of the puzzle.  Now I can hook my Dish Network receiver to one of the cables in the closet.  See if I can find a bird.

Regards.

I ran a coax down to the utility bay wall (next to the cable TV iinput)
