If anyone can help me identify what these are, if they need serviced, etc I would be extremely grateful...
Pic 1 - I believe the blue spin filter is the coolant filter - 9N3368? I've not been able to find a PN on it that'll reference to anything on the web, but about a third of it is hidden from me by other things and I just can't get to it to see. Also, does anyone know what the dirty looking canister slightly above and to the left is? These pics are taken from underneath the side back engine bay opening.
Pic 2 & 3 - This pic is taken from the very back engine compartment opening where the radiator is. I have no clue what this canister is or what its function is. For another reference point, it sits directly above the blue spin filter in Pic 1 (which until someone tells me otherwise I'm assuming is the coolant filter).
Pic 4 - So is this where I install a new air filter - AC A221C or equivalent? Is the air filter seriously this massive? :-)
Again, thanks in advance for any comments someone might have for a newbie. I promise once I get this stuff down I'll stop asking questions and starting imparting any knowledge I've learned from you all to other newbies. Countdown to fluid overhaul is 2-3 weeks. Cost for engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, generator oil, and all associated filters is right at $1000. OUCH! I figure these are the important ones to get to first, then I move on to the differential, greasing the chassis, power steering, brake check, and whatever else I've missed. With all the maintenance these things require, who has time to enjoy them? ;-)
1st pix Left to right, shows both the Either bottle/Canister and the water / antifreeze coolant filter with the DCA or what ever chemical they are using.
2nd & 3rd hydraulic oil reservoir pix with air filter restrictin gauge
4th air filter info as to refill cartridge etc.
Thanks Dave! Sounds like I guessed right on the blue spin filter! Doubtful I'll ever refill the ether canister, but good to know what it is!
WRT to 2nd & 3rd, so this is the hydraulic oil reservoir for the HWH leveling system? If so, I have to replace some seals and will need to bleed the lines so good to know where its at for refill and bleeding. My FT manual referenced it as being somewhere towards the front of the coach accessed by opening the front grill so wasn't even considering that as an option.
4th pic - I think what has me confused is the information card listing pN, refill cart, etc is nowhere near the air filter PN my manual calls for (i.e. - AC A221C). I just want to be sure when I open the air filter box up, I'm not surprised to find it needs something totally different than what I purchased. Prep is everything for me, since I'm borrowing someone else's pit and don't have the option of getting midway through a job and then leaving the coach overnight to go purchase a different part.
Thanks again for the info!
A dumb question, so what is this hydraulic oil reservoir for exactly?
Your coach may have two reservoirs or just one large one. On my coach, one is for the hydraulics on the power steering; the other for the hydraulic pump that runs the radiator fan motor. I don't know if your coach has an electric motor to run the radiator fan or a hydraulic motor.
Benjie, if your HWH leveling system is like mine was on my U225, the HWH reservoir is up front attached to the end of pump motor behind the lower part of the grill. There is a bell looking cap on the top of the horizontal canister that needs to be removed to put more fluid in it. Do not remove or adjust the cap on the side in the from of the valve housing. The HWH system is not connected to the engine compartment in any way on the U225. The hydraulic system back by the engine is for the power steering and maybe on yours for the radiator fans. My U225 had a mechanical fan but my U300 has hydraulic powered fans. If you coach has a side radiator, I'm guessing it will be hydraulic.
Pic 1 is the coolant filter
Pics 2 & 3 are oil tank for power steering
Pic 4 Yes it's that big
from a former owner of a 1988 ORED with cat 3208T .
The oil reservoir is for the hydraulic fan and, I think, the power steering. The HWH tank is part of the pump up front and is hard to fill.
