Our 2004 counter tops are dull, is there any cleaner or polish we can use that will bring back the shine. That will not come off when washed?
Thanks Madelyn
Madelyn, it would be very helpful to know what you have for counter tops. I am guessing that they are Corian since you say they are dull. There are a couple of polishes made for Corian but they are really more a maintenance product and do not do a lot to bring back a shine. The best way is to use very fine wet sand paper, 1000, 2000, then 4000 followed by a automotive polish and then car wax. You will need an orbital polisher to do it the right way or you can take it back to NAC and let them polish it at FOT for you. I'm sure there are other Hard Finish Counter Top contractors in most major cities that can polish Corian.
The Key is to keep it waxed once you get it polished.
If you find a better way, please post your results.
If you have scratches, Kent has the ticket with different grades of wet or dry sandpaper. If no scratches, just dull, you can go to NAPA or an automotive paint store and buy a tube of medium rubbing compound an a tube of "final finish" a very light compound. A buffer can make it look like glass but can also make a mess throwing compound everywhere. You might experiment with the "armstrong" method with a soft towel and see if it polishes up to what you had in mind. Corian is very forgiving to work with.
Option two would to visit a cabinet shop that installs Corian or a similar product in your home town. Arrange a time to bring your coach to them and let them polish it. Won't be expensive and you should get exactly the look you are after without the mess.
