Title: C M Fore Passed last night
Post by: John S on August 06, 2011, 06:06:42 pm
Hi everyone.  I am sitting at home recovering from back surgery and just found out that CM Fore passed last night. He and his son Ray are the reason we have our wonderful machines.  A man with vision who was also a christian man who lived the life as well.  I know we are all better people for having known the Fore's.  He was a big part of the Foretravel legacy and we all are better off for his vision and drive to build the best motorhome for the customer and his attitude of second to none customer service.

I am sure the family would be happy to have our prayers of peace and comfort. They know he is with in eternity with his Lord but the passing is still hard on everyone.  Please keep the Fore family in your thoughts and prayers this week and pray they find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

John,

Thank you for informing us of C M Fore's passing.  Another important aspect of Mr. Fore's legacy is the friendships made among the thousands of Foretravel owners.

Other than our families, most of us will not be so lucky as to leave behind the kind of legacy that Mr. Fore has. With his leadership, foresight, and quest for perfection, his products have touched the lives of many people over the years, and will continue to do so for many more. Our condolensces to the Fore family and friends. Our prayers are with you.

This is certainly sad news for those of us left behind here on Earth.  I'm also somewhat envious of Mr. Fore as he is now sitting on the right side of his Maker.  I'm sure they are having a grand time talking about all the wonderful things that are in store for C.M.  I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fore personally, but I sure do admire his workmanship in the coaches he designed and built.  A marvelous individual, for whom he has left a terrific legacy.  My sincere love, prayers and wishes for the rest of his family that he has left behind.

   C. M. Fore was one of the best. We do not get many like him. He will always be remembered. I send my
prayers for "CM", and the Fore family. Rest in peace my friend.

We met him & his wife at the 1st Buddy Rally in 2007.  That was 1 week after our purchase of our 1st MH and only Foretravel.  I still marvel at the quality and beauty he instilled into his products.

Thank you.

Over the course of my learning curve about the Foretravel brand - spanning research, search, and now ownership - my respect for the man who put his name on this product kept deepening.  He seemed to me to be a man on a mission - to do good and to do it well - and this drive seemed to have shaped and directed every every sector of his business model and practices.  Evidence was everywhere - in the extraordinary long-term consistency in the remarkable aesthetic and manufactured qualities of the product, in the loyalty of employees and customers, in the respect for the brand from knowledgeable non-owners, and in the glowing testimonies of customer care, which extended across the company to all owners irrespective of where and how they have acquired their Foretravels.  Seemed to me he was showing generous respect for me long before I knew to return my respect to him.

Wondered from time to time what the source of his values-driven business practices might have been.  Wasn't until Karen and I drove our own pre-loved Foretravel past the factory in Nacogdoches for the first time that we were pretty sure that we knew the answer.  We believed at that moment that the symbol and the quotation facing the road on the front of the plant made pretty clear public testimony of lifetime commitments that both fed this man and pulled him forward.  Great example of an integrated life.

Hope Karen and I can meet him down the road.

The way our FTs were designed and built, the stability of the company, the service provided customers, are all testimony of the character of the man behind it.  I did not know C.M. Fore, but the quality of the man is with us every mile.  I wish I had met him.  We FT owners honor his memory just by taking good care of our coach.  This forum also honors his memory by sharing information on the care of our coaches.  What a wonderful legacy was left by C. M. Fore.

I'm a bit late on this one; however, I am saddened as well by C. M. Fore's passing and his friends and family will be in our prayers.  I can only hope that the new ownership continues the stewardship of the brand as well as the Fore family did - only time will tell.

In the meantime, each one of us needs to take the attitude that we are temporary custodians of a very well made motorhome until the next owner begins to take loving care of the coach the way we each did.  The longevity of the brand is only as good as the stewardship of the current owners and the brand managers/owners commitment.

Peter,

Well said.  Every time an older and well-maintained Foretravel coach is seen it reflects well on the new ones sitting in the factory show room.
