In my service bay ('97 U320) on the left side of the faucet is a telephone plug, which I assume is for feeding a telephone connection into the coach. On the same plate with that connection is a standard coax connector, just like the ones to the right of the faucet labeled "SAT" and "CABLE".
Anyone know what that coax connector is for or what it is wired to?
Duane,
The connection should carry a video/audio signal from a satellite receiver dish or from the campground cable. Should be wired to the input of a small mixer or directly into your TV.
Believe it was originally for campground cable service, but as George says can be used for a satellite connection too. Check in the forward most cabinet above the drivers seat and to the left of the TV, that is where the other end of this connection is found on my coach.
Duane. On my coaches, present and previous, That coax connector next to the telephone was/is for the campground cable connect. I'll bet that the other two, labelled "sat' and "cable" are add-ons, now as to which are connected where inside, who knows?
That cable connection in the bay if for an outside TV, you can connect to either cable or satellite ( or OTA ), the switch Inside determines which service you can use. May be different on yours.

I would think that someone has wired in an extra feed for sat' reception and used R6 cable as sats need the better cable than what has been put in most coaches R59. This is ok for cable but not good for satellite. Short runs work but longer does not give good transfer. I rewired my coach when I was doing the tv changes because while away I use Star Choice all the time.

I agree that the two on the right side are add-ons. The original coax hookup for cable next to the telephone jack cannot be used for satellite without some wiring changes and a switch box. That cable runs into the Winegard box and will not supply a clean signal to the satellite receiver. At least that's the way it is on my coach.
I imagine there are a lot of changes previous owners have made. Ours has R6 coming in through the front bulkhead for satellite. End of run was where the old TV was but have now put the sat receiver, dvd player, etc. there with VGA and HDMI heading back from there.
