Title: telephone (land line) connection
Post by: Patricia on August 16, 2011, 11:48:20 am
In my service bay ('97 U320) on the left side of the faucet is a telephone plug, which I assume is for feeding a telephone connection into the coach.
Duane posted in another thread to ask about the SAT/TV coax connections; but, to avoid a hijack, I started this to address the first statement in that post (see above)....

Duane, not only does our '03 U295 have the same telephone jack down in the utility bay next to the television cable/coax connection, but we also have two phone jacks inside - one next to the bed and one next to the recliner.

I never thought much about these jacks, until we spent the month of July this year in Virgin, UT.  We had ZERO cell coverage (neither Verizon nor AT&T), but excellent free wifi.

We were able to make outgoing phone calls for free with Google Phone on the wifi, but we couldn't receive incoming calls (unless we paid for upgraded Google Voice).  The campground (www.zionriverresort.com (http://www.zionriverresort.com)) loaned us a small phone set and an additional cord to run from the coach and plug into the pedestal.  They then provided us with our own phone number to (a) receive any incoming calls, and (b) to dial local and toll-free numbers... all at no charge.

So, you see... some day you may make use of that jack, too!  ^.^d
