Have the Cummins 5.9. The Cole Hersee I am replacing has the two heavy lugs on the each side and one small lug. Looks like the Cole Hersee 24037 - 12V Intermittent Duty Solenoid (http://www.ase-supply.com/Cole_Hersee_24037_12V_p/ch-24037.htm) Cole Hersee 24037. The small side lug has 3 wires, 2 red and 1 blue. 1 red goes to the Chevy 7/way Ignition Switch. 1 redgoes to Fuel Shut off valve. And the 1 blue goes to the Remote Start.
Am replacing the Cole Hersee with the Blue Sea L 9012. The Blue Sea has two main lugs + A1 and - A2, along with a Red and a Black coming out of the side of it. Instructions say A1 goes to + post Battery and A2 goes to starter. According to instructions the Red goes to ignition switch and the black goes to dc negative.
How does the Blue Sea hook up considering the way the Cole Hersee wires are set up. I would think the main terminals would be the same. But the small red and black wires??? Does the red connect to the 3 wires that were on the small lug of the Cole Hersee, and the black to ground?
The only difference I am aware of is that the Cole Hersee grounds through it's body's connection to chassis ground and the Bluesea has a separate ground terminal which you would wire to a good chassis ground. So all the large lugs would be wired the same with battery side of the Cole Hersee going to battery side large lug of the Bluesea and other large lug wires going to the other large lug of the Bluesea.
All wires on the small positive terminal of the Cole Hersee to the red/positive terminal of the Bluesea. Bluesea other small terminal to chassis ground.
Does that make sense?
