At last I feel that I can participate fully in this wonderful forum. My wife and I are now proud owners of our first ever motorhome! See our signature below.
I have been lurking on Foreforums since its inception soaking in the ambiance ;D and wisdom. Last year we went to Nac and saw a few very nice coaches but none were quite right. This last week we returned to FOT to look at 2 coaches and actually bought one. It was not the one I thought we would get but it certainly is the one we wanted the most! Some cosmetic work is being performed and we will be back in Nac at the end of the month to pick her up. Hopefully we can meet a few folks.
We were set on a 36 footer but ended up with a 38 based on the layout that really fits how we plan to use the coach.
So now the fun begins! I'll be like many newbies asking for much but giving little at first. As I've witnessed over the last year you all will be kind, firm and opinionated but above all tremendously helpful. Just want to say thanks in advance.
Congratulations!
Michelle
Congrats! A great coach.
Almost forgot - don't know if it fits your schedule, but you might want to look into the Ladies' Driving School offered in November Foretravel Luxury Motorcoaches (http://www.foretravel.com/motorcade/events.php?id=145)

Thanks for the heads up Michelle but Mary will take a pass this time. Maybe next year for her. I'll be handling the wheel work initially.
I
definitely agree with Michelle, but understand that scheduling may not work.
Our 36' is also our first motorhome. While I did drive the 3/4 ton p/u to tow our Airstream TT from time to time, I was very reluctant to get behind the wheel of the coach. We just happened to be in Nac and bought our coach from FOT the very same week (Nov 2009) that the Ladies Driving School was offered. We participated in the program, and it was very worthwhile for both of us. Hopefully, you both (it's for husbands, too!) can go next year.
Perhaps this option may work for you..... About two months after we bought the coach, we arranged for a two-day course at the RV Driving School (RV Driving School (http://www.rvschool.com/)). They have instructors in several states (CA, AZ, FL, and WA) - we chose Yuma, AZ for our classes (Dan Sheppard was the instructor there, and he was fantastic), since we lived in NM at the time. The course was 12 hours (3 hours in the morning, and 3 in the afternoon, on two consecutive days), and is taught in your coach - and can be for one driver, or for both of you. We chose the latter, and we can highly recommend the experience. Not only driving, but they will customize the course to include whatever subjects you and your husband want to include related to your particular coach.
Congratulations - and welcome to the "Foretravel family"!

Mark and Mary,
From looking at the listing, It looks like you have bought a beautiful coach. Congratulations !!!!! Welcome to the Foretravel family. Hope you have many years of blessed memories ahead of you.
Regards, Mark
Congratulations!!! You appear to have made a very wise choice. Welcome to the forum and I am sure all will be looking forward to your participation both with sharing ideas and help for others as well as getting good ideas for your own projects.
Congradulations! Hope to see you soon on the road ! You sound like us, we went down there to buy a 38 2003 U320 and bought a 40 2005 U320 and we are loving it!
Welcome and congrats! Hope we see you down the road ... and in the parking lot at Nac for a "Pourtravel Happy Hour" session. We have had the best time, meeting folks in person after getting to know them "electronically" on the Forum. We will also want to see photos of your new "baby"!!
Thanks everyone for the kind words and wishes.
We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible during our travels as well as the annual pilgrimages to Nac. We plan to be on the road about 5-6 months a year, so sooner or later our paths will cross.
Congrats, Mark and Mary! You have officially replaced us as the newest FT owners on the forum. :D
Tys and Don
At the rate folks are discovering this forum and subsequently buying FTs I'm sure it won't be long until we are replaced as well.
From a rather old hand now on FT, congrats. There are oldernthan me out there though so I have more coaches in me before I am finally done.
Anywah, congrats. You made a fine choice.
We think you have made a decision and choice not to be regretted in this life time. Have fun, enjoy and revel in being on the road.
Welcome to the owner side of the group. There is a wealth of talent here, and all will help get you settled into your coach. Remember there are no dumb questions. So feel free to ask for help if needed.
Congratulations on becoming a Foretravel person and welcome!

We are soooo excited! We can hardly wait to get back to Nac to pick her up and begin the learning process. Moving up from RVing in a 26' trailer to our new FT will be quite a leap and quite a steep learing curve. Hopefully, all the reading I've been doing the past year will help some.
Heck, I'm even amped up about getting a decent pic of our new baby to post as our avatar!
Mark, we went from a back packing tent on a motorcycle to a 36' Foretravel just 4 years ago so I think you are way ahead on the learning curve. Good common sense and this forum are all you need to greatly enjoy the Foretravel experience.
We are looking forward to the photos.
Kent that is quite a leap. So maybe I know a bit more than I think I know, but it all seems a little intimidating in the beginning.
