Title: Re: Ladder Repairs
Post by: Don & Tys on September 19, 2011, 04:49:28 pm
That is an awesome offer Dave! Thanks, but since I couldn't find the Stainless Steel star nuts when I started working on this project, I woked out another way of doing it using (mostly) Stainless Steel fasteners more commonly available, along with some aluminum pop rivets for the end points (ladder to mounting cup). Too hard to describe in words right now, but when I finish I will post some pics.

I have spare star nuts ( SS) if you have a need. I did a write up on the same repair a few years back.

Thanks for the link Barry! Guess I should have asked yet another question.... but I don't want to use up all of the foreums bandwidth! After my experience with rusted star nuts and having to cut most of the bolts to remove the ladder (which was flopping around), I will be happy to have it attached with stainless steel and rivets. I just hope that the top ladder assembly stays tight to the coach. At least, all of the fasteners were snug...
